Adelaide United player provisionally suspended by FFA

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has provisionally suspended Adelaide United player Ken Ilso Larsen under its National Anti-Doping Policy.

The provisional suspension follows a test that returned a positive A-sample for Benzoylecgonine (metabolite of Cocaine), which is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Code and FFA’s National Anti-Doping Policy. He was tested by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority on 27 January 2019.

The provisional suspension is a mandatory step under FFA’s National Anti-Doping Policy. While it is in place, Mr Larsen is prohibited from participating in the A-League and all other WADA compliant sports.

Mr Larsen now has the opportunity to have his B-sample analysed before FFA takes steps to issue him with an Anti-Doping Rule Violation notice.

FFA will not be making further comment while this process is under way.
