FFA sends sincere condolences to family and friends of Damien Lovelock

Football Federation Australia sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of football commentator and lover of the round ball game, Damien Lovelock, following his passing, aged 65.

Lovelock was an integral part of football coverage in Australia, most notably through his roles as a commentator and regular panellist on SBS’s The World Game, and FFA Chief Executive David Gallop AM paid tribute, saying:

“Damo’s love and enthusiasm for football shone through so brightly. His encyclopaedic knowledge of the game and deep thinking gave him a unique voice, the likes of which we may never see again.

“His talents were vast and diverse, from his music career with The Celibate Rifles to his later career as a yoga teacher. Only he could combine the passions of his life to find a niche teaching yoga to professional footballers at Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
