FFA Media Statement

Football Federation Australia (FFA) this morning acknowledged communication from Professional Footballers Australia on behalf of Nathaniel Atkinson, Riley McGree, Lachlan Wales and Brandon Wilson to accept the decisions of the FFA Board in relation to a breach of the FFA National Code of Conduct.

FFA Chairman Chris Nikou said:

“It is pleasing that the players have accepted responsibility for their actions.”

“This has been a difficult period for everyone involved and FFA will, in conjunction with the PFA, continue to extend support and assistance to the players.”

“Through the recently concluded National Teams CBA there is an increased emphasis on holistic player and cultural development, so we look forward to using this opportunity to work with the PFA on their welfare and education programs to ensure that national team environments are the pinnacle of a players’ career.”
