The rebel Female Football Week is one of the highlights of the year and the perfect way to celebrate women in football and the huge role they play at all levels of the game.

And the initiative is being recognised right around the country, with every Member Federation doing their bit to acknowledge the incredible contribution to the game in Australia.

Here’s a rundown of the activities being run around Australia for rebel Female Football Week.

Football Victoria

A Female Football Festival is being held on Saturday, March 14 at the Darebin International Sports Centre.

The full day event begins at 7.15am with a Women in Football Breakfast with a range of activities to be staged throughout the day.

They include forums for coaches and referees, female only skills training courses, friendly matches for U8s through to U13s, a skills acquisition program and walking football.

Football Northern NSW

The federation is hosting a Network Evening on Friday, March 13 at Magic Park Clubhouse, featuring guest speakers and the region’s 2020 Female Football Week Award winners.

The guest speakers include Jo Fernandes, Melinda Carbis-Reilly and Bree Stedman.

There will also be a Referee Level 4 Course for Females on Saturday, March 14 at Speers Point, while each club also have their own activities planned.

Football South Australia

A community season launch will kick-start things on Friday, March 13 where all the rebel Female Football Week Award nominees for the state in attendance.

Football South Australia will host a Schools Gala Day on Monday, March 16, while there will be a Coaching Female Athletes Forum on the Tuesday.

The Women’s NPL will hold their Female Football Round on Friday, March 20, with all four matches to be played at VALO Football Centre on the same night.

The activities end on Sunday, March 22 with a Community Club Gala Day at Adelaide Jaguars Women’s Soccer Club.

Football Queensland

There is a range of different events being held in Brisbane during rebel Female Football Week, at regions such as Brisbane, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Toowomba, Cairns, Innisfail, Ingham and the Gold Coast.

Football West

Activities in the west will run over a week, starting on Saturday, March 14 with a Female Only Skills Training Certificate.

The following day will be the Girls’ Day Out, where youngster will get the chance to play games and meet players from Perth Glory’s Westfield W-League squad.

Friday, March 20 will see a free Empowering Women Workshop held, before a Female Only Level 4 Referee Certificate on Saturday ahead of a celebration of the state’s ‘Female Football Heroes’ at Perth’s Glory’s Hyundai A-League clash against Western United FC.

Football Tasmania

The festivities begin on Friday as former Westfield Matildas star Michelle Heyman hosts a clinic for 120 girls.

On Saturday, March 14, the final of the 14th Summer Cup will be held while there is also a female football festival on the day.
