Australian Match Officials appointed to Final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019

Hyundai A-League full-time referee Chris Beath has been appointed as the fourth official for Final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil whilst fellow Australian match official Anton Shchetinin will be the Reserve Assistant Referee for the same match which will be played at the Bezerrao Stadium in Brasilia today (17 November 2019)

FFA Chairman and Chair of the FFA Referees committee, Chris Nikou, commended the Australian match officials on their historic achievement.

“On behalf of the Australian Football community I would like to congratulate Chris and Anton on their significant appointments,” said Nikou .

“These appointments are not only recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the tournament, but also the years of preparation and training that has led to this moment.

“I am sure that Chris and Anton will perform admirably if called upon during the Final and we look forward to seeing them in action in the Hyundai A-League soon,” concluded Nikou.

Australian match officials, Beath, Shchetinin and Ashley Beecham were one of 20 trios of match officials, five Support Referees and 17 Video Assistant Referees (VARs), representing all six confederations who were appointed for the tournament by the FIFA Referees Committee.
