Matchday Three Summary: IFCPF Asia Oceania Championships

It was another fantastic day at the Home of the Matildas in the IFCPF Asia Oceania Championships, featuring Nepal's first ever goal in IFCPF women's competitions.

Men: India 0 – 10 Japan

It was another tough afternoon for newcomers India, who came up against a red-hot Japan. They scored 14 goals in total, but the score count reflects the IFCPF maximum of 10.

India defended strongly in the first half, only conceding three goals – a hattrick to Toya Mori. However, after four substitutions at half-time, Japan started to pile on the pressure, and the goals started flowing.

The highlight for Japan was an incredible six goals for Tatsuhiro Ura.

Men: Thailand 0 v 5 Iran

After positive results against Australia and India, Thailand came up against an Iranian team in red-hot form.

A first-half hattrick to Moslem Mehrabian in the first half gave Iran a sturdy lead that they never looked like relinquishing. While Thailand showed a lot of fight, the world no3 Iran were too strong in the end.

Women: Japan 10 – 1 Nepal

It was a historic match for Nepal who scored their first ever goal in IFCPF international women’s competitions.

However, they were against a superb Japan, who scored a total of 15 goals. IFCPF rules stop counting goals at 10, meaning that the score result is 10-1.

While games played by Nepal will not count attract championship or ranking points, it is a fantastic learning occasion for all.
